LEE Waters AM has publicly backed Mark Drakeford as his choice for the First Minister’s post at the Welsh Assembly.
Taking to Twitter to post a video message in support of Mr Drakeford Lee Waters AM said:
“I am going to be supporting Mark Drakeford to be Labour’s candidate for the next First minister. Mark is the most impressive person in the of the whole National Assembly. Respected by all for his decency and his ability. He’s got a gut instinct of how to use power to help the weakest in society and I trust him to make the right choices as we navigate deepening austerity and the difficult days around Brexit. He combines integrity experience and a strong sense of purpose. That’s the kind of person I want to see as our next First Minister and that’s why I think Mark Drakeford is the right choice.”

The Welsh Assembly could look decidedly different with leaders from all parties having changed. Depending on the result of the Plaid Cymru leadership challenge it could be an all male lineup of leaders. With the Conservatives having chosen Paul Davies as their leader and UKIP having Gareth Bennett as leader it only remains for Plaid Cymru and Labour to decide.
The battle for leadership and First Minister: Plaid Cymru and Labour must decide.
