Lamahr Bourne, 18, from Butetown, has been charged with wounding and is due to appear at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court this morning.
Officers were called to an altercation in City Road at around 11.45pm on Thursday, February 7.
Those involved left prior to police arrival and since that time arrest enquiries have been carried out across the city.
Ten people have now been arrested in connection with this incident.
- A 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on Monday, February 11 where he was remanded in custody until a further hearing on March 11. He is charged with GBH, violent disorder and possession of a bladed article.
- Eight other males aged 13 to 19, have been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.
A 17-year-old injured during the incident received treatment to non-life-threatening stab wounds.
Detective are still appealing for witnesses and are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was working in the area at the time or those who may have dash cam footage.
Detective Sergeant Lauren Wells, from Cardiff CID, said: “We understand there are communities across Cardiff who are concerned about this incident, particularly by the age of some of those who have been arrested.
“We share these concerns and have worked relentlessly since last Thursday night.
“I hope these recent charges offer some reassurance to the public.
“Knife crime has risen across the UK and unfortunately we are not an exception to that.
“We are grateful for the support of the City Road business community who have given us access to CCTV footage and would appeal for anyone also with information to please contact us.”
